Message from Pastor (Steve Olney)

Welcome to our new website. Take a good look around, because there's a lot to see. Be sure to get yourself an account for personalization. Take a look at our forums to talk with one another. Please let the webmaster know if you have any questions.

Cowboy Church, what is that?  What is Cowboy Church all about?  These are some of the questions we are asked when we tell people we attend the Cowboy Church of Limestone County, Alabama.  Have you ever wondered what it is like? As the pastor of this church, let me be the first to invite you to visit.  Our Cowboy Church provides non-denominational services for all who would like to hear the Word of God, by a plain, simple, straight forward approach to a solid bible ministry.

Have you ever wanted to attend a church service without a dress code? That is correct, we have no dress code, blue jeans, hats, and boots will be seen, but are not required. We are just an ordinary bunch of country people who care enough to get to know you and help in your walk to and with the Lord.  Our focus is to reach out to the cowboy and western heritage community in and around the North Alabama and Southern Tennessee areas. Whether you are a rodeo cowboy, working cowboy, a cowboy at heart, or just want straight biblical teachings you’re welcome to worship with us.

Everyone is welcome to attend.  We meet every Sunday morning at 10:00, and we host Bible Study at 6:30 each Thursday evening. We have Youth Night on Wednesday at 6:00. This event provides a good atmosphere where our youth and children alike can have fun while remaining focused on the solid principles of the Bible. We have a Music Ministry on Wednesday’s nights where our band practices. You are welcome to come and enjoy the music while they practice.

 On the first Sunday of each month we have a fellowship Chuck Wagon breakfast that is open to everyone. Please join us at 8:30 am for a delicious meal and great camaraderie.

 There are no exceptions: The Cowboy Church of Limestone County is for all, and everyone will be welcomed with open arms and open hearts. Currently attending our church are people who come from every walk of life. There are rodeo cowboys, cutters, reiners, ranch hands, barrel racers, trail riders, and just plain good ole folks who love horses and this way of life. That is not to say you have to own a horse or be a horse person to come, try us out and see if we fit your way of worship. We allow God to minister through us by preaching, praying, and teaching the Word of God. We believe the following as the base of our faith:

  • The Bible is the true word of God;
  • Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died to save men from their sins;
  • Men are saved by grace alone through faith in Jesus Christ;
  • Baptism is the means by which people are to publically profess their faith in Christ and identify themselves with his death, burial and resurrection.

If this type of worship interests you, give us a try; we would be happy to see you, and I think you’ll be glad you came to this Cowboy Church!

Again, I think you will enjoy our unique style of worship, community service, horse events, and just plain FAMILY fun! Our doors will be open to all who visit and you will get a better understanding of the “Cowboy Church.”

Now that is about the best looking Pastor I have ever seen! The only thing that could upstage him is his lovely bride! You are a good man Pastor Olney. It is a blessing to me to know you.
